NAME: Natalya Jukes (Talya or Taly for short)

LIKES: Apprenticing under Lady Ravena, the herbalist/healer and midwife for Falconer’s Landing. Talya loves to learn about the plants and herbs and all the medicinal properties. She also is very good at delivering babies. She’s delivered at least four of the new Falconer’s since she came into her apprenticeship. She also likes to take long walks along the coast of the island both during the day and at night. It’s been said that on a full moon, if the sky is clear and the wind is just right, you can see the shifting of the boundaries and peer into either the Otherland or Neverland. She believes she’s looked into both on several occasions.
Playing the flute. She’s very gifted when it comes to music. She can play the guitar and fiddle. But the flute is her favorite. It helps calm her down. Playing with the other musicians in the Landing, especially every other Saturday evening when Falconer's Landing has it bi-weekly gathering/festival in the town square. That's where she actually saw Billy for the first time, dancing with Wendy.
Spending time with Lady Ravena, Lord Hawk; the Landing's doctor, and their children; Joey, Magdala, Crystal, and Aspen. (She lives with them) and friends.
PET PEEVES/DISLIKES: Not knowing where her older brother Billy is. Yes, I said older. Keep reading. Knowing she’s in F.L. because she’s hiding from the men who “bought” her when she was 13. She’s been on the run ever since AND they’ve been pursuing her. She’s safe, but she’s still scared.
ROMANTIC INTERESTS: None
HISTORY: Yes, Natalya is Billy’s younger sister, by 7 years. (Huh?) She was just a baby (and Billy was 7) when their kumpania was attacked at their winter camp just outside an England town. The same town they had been camping by and doing business/bartering/dukkerin (fortune telling) in for several years. Billy disappeared; separated from his familia, and Talya, with her mother ended up taken as prisoners and sold to a brothel. Talya grew up in the brothel completely unaware that she and her mother were “property”. Her mother made sure Talya knew who she was and where she came from, despite the fact they were living in shame. She learned to speak both English and Romani, as well as French, and carried on with several of the Romany customs and traditions the best that she could.
When she turned 13, she was old enough to be sold. So she was torn away from her mother and sold to another brothel; outside of England. With her cunning and wit, she was able to escape the men, but then ended up on the run with them in pursuit. There was no way she was going to subject herself to such humiliation the way her mother had to. So she was constantly on the move, never staying in one place for very long. Granted, she did learn a lot of trades though. The men did catch her a few times, only to have her escape again.
At this time, she started looking for Billy; hoping he was still alive. She figured he’d be 20, so everywhere she went, she began looking for a 20 year old Roma man that might be Billy. She had no idea that he was on a ship stuck in Neverland and that at that time he hadn’t aged past 14. She searched for 8 years before she came to FL. Right before she did, her “owners” caught up with her. Desperately looking for a place to hide, she came across the Landing - by accident of course - and has stayed ever since. Shortly after her arrival she began hearing stories about Neverland and Peter Pan and the lost boys, and Hook and his men. When she heard the name Billy Jukes, she got excited and began to wonder if it was her brother. But when she found out he was only 17 years old, she told herself it couldn’t be him. “Billy’s seven years older than me. This can’t be him.” It wasn’t until he and Wendy arrived in the Landing and she saw him that she began to wonder if it really was him, and if so, how. Time moves at a different pace in Neverland compared to the world outside of it.
GOOD POINTS/ATTRIBUTES: She’s very intelligent and can learn how to do anything just by watching somebody once. She’s taught herself to play all the instruments that she does. And she knows how to make swords and daggers. She carries a small dagger that she made before arriving in the Landing. She's also a very good cook, baker and seamstress. She knows how to take care of herself, yet also knows when it’s a good time to have someone take care of her. She has a determined personality and she won’t let anyone walk all over her. She very good at dukkerin; tarot, playing cards, tea leaves, stones, etc., and she’s become the Landing’s fortune teller. She’s very friendly, although she wasn’t at first. But she’s warmed up to the people of Falconer’s Landing because they accept her as who she is and she’s safe there.
BAD POINTS/ATTRIBUTES: She’s still leery about trusting gaudjes, although she knows she can. And she has a fear of men. It takes a long time before she can trust one. Oddly enough, she tends to speak before she thinks, then back-pedals to try and save herself.
FASHION STATEMENT: She wears a long orange, cream and tan dress that comes down to her ankles. It laces up the front and back and she wears a cream shirt with it. She has two scarves wrapped around her waist that she wears over a belt fitted loosely around her waist too which has pouches hanging from it, and she ocasionally wears her diklo - head scarf
PHYSICAL APPEARANCE: Natalya’s tall and slim. She had long curly/wavy hair that falls down around her face and back. She has huge dark eyes and a round face like Billy.
ANYTHING: She wants more than anything to find her brother, Billy.
